McKenzie’s Story & The Story Of Pip
12-year-old McKenzie created the story of Pip by sitting down and creating a character, and not just any character, one of the main characters, Lili Lokis. She started by developing Lili as a more adventurous, brave, down-to-earth version of herself.
She then created Pip, Lili’s stubborn little sister. She developed Sophie, Lili’s germaphobic friend, and Makayla, Pip’s spunky best friend and Sophie’s younger sister. From there, McKenzie created Jack, Carter, Matt, and Tyler. The four of them were the gaming, troublesome boys in the group. Carter and Jack are brothers, and Carter has a crush on Pip. Then McKenzie ended with Tritty, Lili’s troublemaker best friend and older sister of Tyler. But things are just getting started...
McKenzie then developed the storyline, leaving it exactly as it was when she wrote the first chapter of the story on Wattpad, her mobile writing base. As she wrote chapter after chapter of Lili’s daring adventures with her friends as they attempted to defeat her Poltergeist little sister, the story, titled Pip: A Short Story, grew increasingly popular. Soon enough, though, McKenzie found her characters, Trinity and Tyler Williams being “unwritable,” as they were the characters nearly no one liked, and called “a waste of effort,” although the story had been completed. Now 13 years old, McKenzie decided to turn her groundbreaking tale into a movie, and began with a cast of characters that looked like how the characters had appeared in her mind. Finally, after the script had been completed in May of 2018, she had an actor for everyone with the exception of Tritty and Tyler, when the original actors, Haven and Skylar Cobb, quit. She removed Tritty and Tyler from the story in a moment of pure panic, rewriting the entire story on Wattpad. Now, both the story and script had be rewritten to abolish the Williams siblings in total. By late August, 2018, filming for Pip: The Short Film, had begun.
